Patient receiving acupuncture treatment

Traditional Acupuncture is one of the longest established forms of healthcare in the world, based on ancient Chinese medicine principles over 2,500 years old.  Diana has been trained to use developed and refined subtle diagnostic techniques which identify where the body’s qi or vital energy is being blocked and cannot flow freely.

The overall aim is to restore the body’s equilibrium with a focus on the individual and not their illness, improving overall well-being by addressing the root cause of illness as well as symptoms which are all seen in relation to each other: in treating one part of the body, it is possible to collect information and treat the whole system.

In our busy modern life, physical, emotional, mental, and spiritual aspects are interdependent.  Pain and illness is a sign that the body is out of balance, but the root cause of imbalance is unique for everyone: emotional, physical or mental stress/trauma, injury, poor nutrition, infection, are some of the most common reasons that qi may not be flowing.

In an acupuncture treatment, single use, sterile, very fine needles are inserted into specific acupuncture points on the body to re-establish the free flow of qi, this allows the restoration of balance and wellbeing by triggering the body’s own natural healing response.  The treatment is safe, gentle and effective.  Patients don’t usually feel the needle being inserted and many find treatment very relaxing.
